
If your visiting the UK or the first time, and want to sample a real English Pub and Inn, the Travellers Rest is for you.
A little difficult to find, south of Hexham, toward Slaley. Try to phone ahead and get detailed instructions, and yes the little bridge is the road, not a foot bridge or somebodys driveway.
This is a small Inn, dont expect the Hilton, but run by realy nice people, and a great coutryside setting. You will find yourself tipping a pint, or having dinner with the locals, which should be what a vacations about.
Don't count on traffic waking you up in the morning, the area is so quiet that it's a little strange to Americans.
Plenty of Parking, short drive to the Roman forts, and wall.
Oh yes, I must mention. The kitchen staff could work in any resturant in the world, just wonderfull food, and most reasonably priced.
