We stayed at White Rose August 2007 for 5 nights. It is walking distance to the CBD all the restaurants & hotels that serve meals. A lovely walk to the lakes 10mins away. Caroline & Kevin are wonderful hosts. They know the Lakes District so well & armed us with travel books & maps for our days out . You felt part of the household. Breakfast was a treat, served in a lovely dining room & no real early start was required.You had your own key to their home. We would recommend a stay at the White Rose for a real English experience & friendship.

During my time at The White Rose I was extremely impressed by everything I saw. The landlady (Caroline), was very friendly and went out of her way to ensure the guests were happy. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very well kept. The food was excellent and well presented. I would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone.

This hotel offers everything you need! We got great information about local attractions from the very welcoming land lady, leading to a brilliant visit to the South Lakes Wild Animal Conservation Park!! Very much recommended!! The room was lovely and the breakfast was a great start to the day with large portions
I would highly recommend this great value hotel!!!

charming little B+B, very nice landlady, individual service, rich breakfast, strategically good location (Public transport: train, busses), yet not really near the Lake (20 minutes on foot)

I recently returned to the White Rose Guest House after having stopped numerous times previously. You are guaranteed to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is absolutely delicious too.

I would highly recommend without a doubt!!
