We have stayed several times now at this lovely B&B which is within walking distance of downtown Salisbury. The accomodations are very nice and it is very clean and well run. You have your own key to come and go as you please. The price is very reasonable, the location is terrific, the service is excellent. The owner is very helpful with directions and information about things to do around town as well.
I travelled through Europe last year and stayed in many Bed and Breakfasts along the way. The old Rectory was a real stand out for me, there are not too many places where you really feel like you can fully relax, and the owner really goes out of her way to help you in any way she can. I stayed there for 4 nights and visited Stonehenge, Stourhead, Larmer Tree Gardens, Heale Gardens, New Forest Cider, Salisbury Cathedral and various other places that were all very close to The Old Rectory. If you’re looking for somewhere that is quiet, peaceful, warm and close to some of England’s most spectacular attractions then I would strongly recommend you stay at The Old Rectory Bed and Breakfast.
I would definitely recommend this beautiful bed and breakfast to travellers looking for comfort and a warm friendly welcome whilst visiting Salisbury and its surrounding attractions. Our room was just beautiful, with everything we needed and more. Breakfast was a delight, made even more so by the welcoming staff. Thank you to Trish and her staff at The Old Rectory for making our travels so enjoyable.
This is beyond doubt the most comfortable, pleasant and well facilitated bed and breakfast we have stayed in. From the welcoming, thoughtful and diligent manner of the staff from arrival to departure, to the fact that you are situated near many of the most fascinating locations on the south coast, this truly is value for money. Sincerely Trish, Thank You.
The high standard of The Old Rectory with Trish Smith's wonderful hospitality was just what we needed. A great stay, in a Victorian house set in a delightful garden, quiet but close to all we wanted to visit -Cathedral, Wilton House, Avebury (which in our opinion is better than Stonehenge!). Important for us it was non-smoking and had all the facilities we wanted right in our own room -bathroom, TV, tea and coffee tray.
