This is outstanding bed and breakfast accommodation. The rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of little extras to make the stay truly memorable eg.dressing gowns, toiletries, bottle opener, bottled water, flowers, magazines. The breakfast is excellent - piping hot and cooked to perfection.I would not hesitate to recommend The Leeway to friends and family.Congratulations to Gary and Karen for getting everything so right.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Leeway and we can highly recommend it to anyone wanting comfort, cleanliness, friendly hosts and good food. Rooms are exactly as portrayed on the web site and the addition of things like robes, flowers, dvd player, bottled water etc. make it that bit more special and personal. Nothing is too much trouble for Garry and Karen. First class breakfast with lots to choose from. We stayed in Room 1 which is the twin room on the ground floor at the back and found it to be very quiet. We will definitely be going back again.

When you plan a couple of days away in any town, the chances are that at some stage you may land a duff one, this review will stop this from happening to you, the Leeway is A1 in every sense. As soon as you walk through the door you are met by Garry the owner, he is very friendly and not just because its his job, he's naturally warm and goes out of his way to make your stay a great one, he knows your name and helps with the local tourist info, best pubs and restaurants. We didnt meet Karen as she was obviously grafting away behind the scenes, we did however taste her full English breakfast which could not be faulted. The room we stayed in was No3, it looks exactly as it does on the web, spotless, modern and with nice touches like fresh flowers, the shower was also spotless. There is a TV with DVD player and you can borrow Dvd's from the hotel (free), but with the many pubs etc in Whitby you probably wont need to. We are hoping to return later in the year and wouldnt dream of stayin anywhere else. You wont find better.

Thankyou to Garry and Karen

We stayed at the leeway early jan, Last minute night away to recover from all the excess of christmas. Greeted at the door by garry with the offer of tea / coffee in the beautifully decorated dining room. With a swift check-in and hotel facilities explained it was off to the room to decide where we were going to eat that night. The leeway has a restaurant guide which is updated by the guests "a must read". We opted for the moon and sixpence which was recommended by garry and we were not dissapointed. The location, food and atmosphere were first class and the piano in the background made it extra cosy. The rooms at the leeway are luxurious without compromise, with fresh flowers adding the quality touch. This guesthouse raises the bar way out of reach of it's competitor's in whitby.

The hospitality of gary and karen was first class the breakfasts lovely. we have stayed in many hotels up and down the country and this one is top of our list and will be returning in the near future.

Garry and Karen, that own this hotel have thought of everything, the rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. On arrival Garry greeted us with tea and home made biscuits. The breakfast is one of the best i've ever had, with lots of refills for the tea pot ! (Yorkshire Tea , the best ). We can truly say it was a great place to stay, friendly, welcoming and above all a personal service, that just can't be beaten ! Try it ! We can't wait to go back very soon.

Another great stay at the Leeway. The owners Karen and Garry always make us feel welcome. The rooms are stunning and are of the highest standard with many little extras that make the stay 5 star. Excelent food and close to all the attractions Whitby has to offer. We keep going back and always enjoy our visit.

This is the third time we have stayed with Gary and Karen at the Leeway and every time we are made to feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

My partner and I went to Whitby for Valentines day and night, we picked the Leeway from viewing the English Tourist Board site…..We arrived at the Leeway in the afternoon, we received a warm welcome from Garry (the proprietor) whom offered a complimentary coffee and cake whilst I completed our reservation forms……we had picked our room from the Leeway site and upon entering is was exactly like the photo, clean, modern and relaxing………breakfast was good too………..overall I would definitely stay here again. Whitby is lacking in luxurious accommodation and the Leeway is heading towards a “Boutique B & B”
