My wife and I had a great stay at Glenfield, September 06.
5 nights in a lovely room, well furnished and homely atmosphere all round in this guesthouse.
Two very helpful people running it, and if you want to know anything about the walks in the area, just ask Andrew.

The breakfasts are excellent, and there are many places for dining out in the area.

It's a lovely place to walk around and the docks area we thought were superb-lots of history.

We will be back for more walking and hopefully see more of the Mining Museum.
I must say the guy we spoke to showed us the plans they had for this and it looks to be a future visit.

The only grumble is the parking, although there was plenty of on street availability.

A great place and good fair prices.

In April, 2006, we had a pleasant 2-night stay at the Glenfield G.H. The accommodation was clean, neat, and comfortable. The hosts were very helpful in directing us to places of interest in Whitehaven. Finally, the family style dinners were excellent. A very enjoyable experience overall.

It's a home away from home. The family that run the guest house are excellent hosts.

Good Life Magazine - What can i say, a warm welcome when i arrived there. The rooms were very nice with great facilities all you can wich for in a Guest House. Andrew and Margaret were great throughout the stay giving us advice were to eat and drink on our short stay in Whitehaven. The stay was topped off with a very filling breakfast which was a real belly buster. Would recommend to anyone staying in Whitehaven or surrounding areas. Thanks again Danny and Sam 11/11/2006

This cosy hotel in Whitehaven is without a doubt the best in town. Yes, we visited all the rest. After a long day of cycling the C2C, this hotels feels like home. The owners are friendly and helpful and the rooms are convenient and nicely decorated. It is just a lovely place to have a rest, spend some time in the garden and enjoy the holiday. Oh yes, the hotel serves wonderful breakfast and dinner, but also ask mr. Davies for the famous Indian restaurant in Whitehaven.

We spent 5 nights at Glenfield and after travelling for a month, it was like coming home. Our teenage girls shared the room next to us, and even they found nothing to complain about! Margaret was like a mother to us, cooking, listening, doing a huge load of washing, and to come home and find it all sorted and folded was so lovely - I could have cried! Andrew was so hospitable and entertaining, and even though they were both under a great deal of pressure at the time with hotel inspections etc., you wouldn't have known it. Highly recommended!

The Glenfield Guest House is run by a husband and wife team who have given me excellent service. I am a long term resident due to work commitments 100 miles from my home and I couldn't ask for better care and attention than I enjoy from Andrew & Margaret the proprietors. I would recommend their establishment to anyone visiting Whitehaven either on a long or short term basis.
