The George is a national treasure. I had stayed there on a number of occasions previously to our Wedding,which was really the only place we wanted to consider holding the reception.

It is obvious that this hotel is in private hands. Attention to detail is 1st Class, accomodation is very good although the rooms do vary in size (if you want something 'different' ask for the room at the top of the narrow stairs) and the food is usually superb.

If you are looking for somewhere to make yourself feel good, then stay at the George - it is definitely worth the money. The added bonus is that you are withing 2 minutes walk of the shops in Stamford Town Centre, and Burley House is on your doorstep.
