I stayed at the Dolls House at the end of my first day of walking the Thames Path. It was a ten minute walk from the actually Thames river and upon arrival, it was well worth it! The host was very accommodating, making us a lovely (much needed) pot of tea with bikkies and getting us in the know with the local dining options.
The room was wonderful! I still remember the handmade quilts upon the beds which were so unique, I wanted to buy one! The hosts personality really comes out in the way she decorates the rooms. I asked to look at the other rooms and as expected, they each had their own individual quirks about them.
All the usual facilities were present and as I stated, the host couldn't of been more accommodating, transporting our baggage to our next stop on the Thames, Lechlade and allowing us to use their wireless internet to send emails and check weather reports from our room.
The breakfast was one to be remembered, good healthy local produce for the full english breakfast and half a grapefruit with brown sugar and vodka for starters! An interesting mix! But still, I am sure any requests you care to make will be taken care of to the best of the hosts ability.
All in all, having stayed in approximately 13 guest houses along the Thames Path, the Dolls House stood out as being impressively individual, very accommodating with everything you could want in a guest house, a real pleasure to stay in. Highly recommended.
