We had a very uncomfortable night at the Cliftonville Hotel on a lumpy, hard bed. The upholstered chairs were covered in grease stains, the carpet was dirty, the tiny shower had mould around the edges and the decor was tired and shabby. We also felt it very overpriced in comparison having spent the previous week touring the East coast, staying in a different hotel or B&B each night. This was by far the worst value for money.
As we checked out we mentioned to the receptionist that we were not happy and she said to write and complain because we were not the only people who had commented on the state of the rooms. We did but received a curt reply and an offer of an upgrade if we stayed again. We certainly would not and could not recommend this hotel to you.
