We were visiting Sissinghurst and Great Dixter, so Church Gates in the pretty little town/village of Cranbrook was a great find. It is locacted on the edge of the churchyard right in the middle of town, with a fabulous little front garden planted with tropical looking flowers and foliage in the style of Christopher LLoyd. Inside, the cosy ensuite room had old oak timber beams and a fabulously deep roll top bath. Lots of gardening books to read too. Fabulous breakfasts - the Canadian Pancakes with Maple Syrup were truly superb. Close to some great restaurants and just a short drive to Sissinghurst. The owners have great recommendations for gardens, village pubs, restaurants, castles, countryside and villages to see - there is really a lot of interest in this area and we will be back!!
